Tesla Cybertruck has gained quite a bit of recognition worldwide although sales don’t translate the same. The Cybertruck has added another feather to its hat by joining the Patrol Squad in Mexico. As per recent reports, Tesla Cybertruck has been added to the police patrol squad in the Mexican state of Jalisco.
This development comes when Mexico is preparing to host the next edition of FIFA World Cup in 2026. The Mexican police has added three specially outfitted Tesla Cybertruck patrol vehicles to their fleet, which will be deployed in high-traffic tourist areas during the biggest sporting spectacle.

One of these Cybertrucks was recently taken out onto the local city streets and tailed by a pair of F-Series trucks that police are also using. The local mayor, Pablo Lemus Navarro, is keen to maximize safety during the World Cup, although the expensive purchases do seem to have upset some locals.

The Cybertruck seen in the images is seen wrapped in a matte black shade with all the regular police livery in place. Red and blue flashing lights have been seamlessly integrated into the front and rear bumpers, as well as the side skirts. While the local police haven’t shared any images of the Cybertruck’s interior, it’s likely been outfitted with the essential equipment required for street patrols and criminal enforcement. These Cybertrucks represent only a small portion of a much larger fleet of new vehicles being rolled out by the state.
In a video released by local news media outlet Telediario Guadalajara on YouTube, Governor Navarro is seen speaking about big plans to improve security in the region ahead of the soccer World Cup. He said that there was also a need to focus heavily on improving the perception of security, and that they would be delivering 678 patrol vehicles for the State Police, State Highway Police, and State Police, including some vehicles referred to as “Black Mambas,” which he described as a type of tank.
Mexico isn’t the only country incorporating the Cybertruck into its law enforcement fleet. Earlier this year, Las Vegas revealed it would be receiving 10 Cybertrucks, donated by an anonymous benefactor. Some are set to be used by SWAT teams, while others will handle regular street patrols. It’s possible that more cities may soon adopt a similar approach.
The 2026 Football World Cup is scheduled to be co-hosted by Mexico along with USA and Canada that will feature as many as 48 teams. The mega event will be held between June 11 to July 19 across 16 host cities.
