Tata Nexon has been spotted testing on roads high up in Himachal Pradesh. The pictures of the parked test mule were taken by a TeamBHP forum member. It was first showcased at the 87th Geneva Motor Show, where the manufacturer revealed specifications and features of the car. The Nexon is Tata’s first car in sub-compact SUV segment in India. When launched, it would compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, at an expected price tag of Rs 7 lakh.
Tata Nexon is based on the ‘IMPACT’ design language. At the front, it gets aerodynamically designed front pillars, chrome ‘Humanity line’ front grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and fog lamps.

The Nexon showcased at the Geneva motor show had a 1.5L Revotorq Diesel engine. It is expected that the Indian version might get a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel unit. The transmission will be mated to a manual transmission, while an automatic gearbox may be introduced later.
The Nexon is likely to feature a touchscreen Harman infotainment system with navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control and keyless entry. In terms of safety, the Nexon Geneva Edition gets front dual airbags, ABS with EBD with Corner Stability Control for safe drive and ISOFIX mounts at the rear seats for child safety.
