Tata Motors expands charging infrastructure with 250 fast-charging stations

In collaboration with Delta Electronics and Thuderplus Solutions, Tata Motors expands its e-cargo mobility solutions.

Tata Motors is set to establish 250 fast-charging stations across the country in collaboration with Delta Electronics India and Thunderplus Solutions Pvt Ltd. The charging stations will be located around nearly 50 cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kochi and will add to the existing network of 540 commercial vehicle charging points. 

In this collaborative effort, Delta Electronics will supply the necessary hardware, Thunderplus Solutions will install and operate the stations. This venture will also aid e-commerce companies that are looking towards commercial EVs for the last-mile deliveries and reduce their carbon footprint. 

Mr. Vinay Pathak, Vice President & Business Head  of SCV&PU, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said, “Expanding the available charging infrastructure on high-use routes will encourage more customers to opt for electric commercial vehicles and improve vehicle uptime resulting in higher revenues and better profitability, while contributing towards a cleaner, greener environment.”

Furthering their e-cargo mobility venture, Tata Motors’ Ace EV 1000, launched in May 2024 has revolutionised last-mile deliveries. The mini-truck boasts of zero-emissions and can travel 161 km on a single charge with a payload capacity of 1 tonne. The Ace EV is also equipped with an advanced battery management system while possessing the wide facilities of Tata UniEVerse. It also benefits from collaborations with relevant Tata Group companies and partnerships with the country’s leading financiers to offer customers sustainable mobility options.
