Tata Motors launched the Harrier EV earlier this month at a starting price of Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). However, at the time of launch Tata revealed prices of only the entry-level variant of the Harrier EV. To be available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), the company revealed prices of all single-motor variants of the all-electric Harrier yesterday.
Now we all know that Harrier EV competes against the Mahindra XEV 9e. Like Tata, Mahindra also took time to reveal prices of all variants of the XEV 9e and unlike the Harrier EV, the XEV 9e doesn’t offer AWD variants. As you can see from the tables above, the starting price of XEV 9e is Rs 41,000 more than the entry-level variant of Harrier EV. Also, the top-spec XEV 9e is priced Rs 3 lakh more than the top-spec RWD variant of Harrier EV. It is important to note that both Tata and Mahindra are not offering any charging option as standard, inclusive of the ex-showroom.
The Harrier EV is available with two battery options: 65 kWh and 75 kWh whereas the XEV 9E comes with two battery choices: 59 kWh and 79 kWh with Mahindra claims a range of 542 km and 656 km, respectively. Meanwhile, Tata has only revealed the range on the 75 keWh unit which is rated at 627 km. Moreover, both electric SUVs are heavily loaded as far as creature comforts and safety are concerned.
