French carmaker Citroen will officially debut the much-talked-about Basalt on August 2 in India. Prices for the Citroen Basalt will be announced in the following weeks, and deliveries will happen later.
The Citroen Basalt has been snapped many times while on tests, and the coupe will be based on the Citroen C3 Aircross. The Basalt features a familiar Citroen two-slat grille at the front, however, it gets a slightly aggressive front bumper.
Towards the side, the design comes into full view with the sloping roof. Other design bits include flip-up door handles, LED lights, plastic cladding all around the vehicle, squarish wheel arches, and alloy wheels amongst others.
The Citroen Basalt will feature convenience features such as auto AC, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and navigation, wireless charging, multiple airbags, ABS, and much more.
The Basalt will be powered by a 109bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine and will have an all-electric version as well, which will put it right in the path of the Tata Curvv, which will be unveiled tomorrow (July 19), followed by its launch next month. The Curvv will also be available in ICE and all-electric versions.
