More new vehicles coming to India, and the latest update is from Suzuki, which has trademarked the Escudo and Torqnado names, hinting at new launches. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that there will be eight new vehicle launches in the next four years, and the two names could be for two of those models.

Maruti Suzuki: Upcoming launches

While Maruti Suzuki will launch eight vehicles in the next four years, some of them are facelifts or updates of current models like the Swift and Dzire. One of the launches will be the eVX, an all-electric concept showcased by Maruti Suzuki at the Auto Expo, which will likely carry the same name in its production form.

However, there are other models to look out for, such as the seven-seater version of the Grand Vitara, a mass-market electric hatchback, an electric MPV, a three-row compact MPV to rival the Renault Triber, and an SUV that will compete against the Tata Punch.

Suzuki currently uses the Escudo nameplate in Japan, which is an SUV, hinting that the seven-seater version of the Grand Vitara could be called Escudo when launched in India. The Torqnado name, on the other hand, is new.

Maruti Suzuki: Next launch

The next launches lined up from Maruti Suzuki for India will be the Swift facelift and the Dzire, which have been snapped testing in India. The most recent sighting was the Dzire facelift, which will be based on the Swift, which made its debut during the Tokyo Mobility Show.
