Skoda has been known as a brand for making driver’s cars and the one model that upholds this belief is the Octavia. Only true petrol heads know the value of Octavia and how it has satisfied the driving pleasure of enthusiasts across the globe over the years. The Czech carmaker has confirmed the launch of the Octavia RS later this year.
Although Skoda is yet to confirm an exact timeline for the launch of the performance sedan, we expect Octavia RS to make its debut around the festive season this year. The latest iteration of Octavia RS made its global debut in February this year while the new-gen Octavia standard was displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
Like previous versions, the new-gen Octavia RS will also come to India as a fully-imported model via the CBU route. Therefore, expect it to carry a stiff price tag of around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda also hasn’t revealed how many exact units of the Octavia RS will be allocated for India. Only 200 units of the previous-gen Octavia RS 245 were allocated for India and we expect a similar number of allocation for the new model.

Despite a stiff price tag, all 200 units of the Octavia RS 245 were spoken for even before its price was revealed. As previous iterations, the Octavia RS is a sportier iteration of the standard Octavia. This is seen in its sportier exterior and interior styling as well as a more powerful engine under its hood.
Skoda Octavia RS: Design & Specs
Exterior styling changes of the Octavia RS include a blacked-out front grille, sporty bumpers, dual exhausts and a lip spoiler at the back. The sedan runs on 18-inch dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels as standard, with the option of upgrading to 19-inch rims. Inside the cabin, it gets sporty bucket seats, a 3-spoke steering wheel, a large central touchscreen and carbon fibre and Alcantara trim on the dashboard.

Powering the new-gen Octavia RS is the same 2.0-litre TSI EVO turbocharged petrol engine as the standard model but has been tuned to deliver an enormous 261 bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque. This motor is paired exclusively with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission driving the front wheels. As for performance, the sedan can breach the 100 kmph mark from standstill in 6.3 seconds. It can clock a top speed of 250 kmph. The twin sports exhaust vents now come as standard and offer a very tempting aural experience.
