Skoda unveiled the Enyaq, the brand’s first electric SUV, in its final production form globally in 2022. Ever since then, its anticipation of coming to India has been high with Skoda also announcing its launch in India last year. Test mules of the Enyaq were also spotted in India a few months back. The Enyaq has finally made its official debut in India.
The Czech carmaker has displayed the battery-powered SUV at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The model dis-played at exhibition is the new Enyaq 85 trim which made its global debut in January this year. It sits in between the Enyaq 80 and Enyaq RS in the Skoda lineup.
Skoda Enyaq: Specs & features
Skoda offers the new Enyaq 85 with a larger 82 kWh battery pack that is good enough to offer a peak range of 565 km, as per WLTP cycle. The Enyaq 85 gets a rear-wheel drive setup while the higher-spec Enyaq 85x comes with all-wheel-drive capabilities. The battery delivers energy and offers an output of 282 bhp and 560 Nm of torque.

As for performance, the Enyaq 85 can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds and can clock a top speed of 180 kmph. The 85x is slightly quicker with an acceleration time of 6.6 seconds. When it comes to charging, it supports up to 135 kW DC fast charging which can juice up the battery from 10% to 80% in just 28 minutes. Skoda Enyaq is based on the VW Group’s born-electric MEB platform, which also underpins the Volkswagen ID 4 and Audi Q4 e-tron.
In terms of features, Enyaq gets an updated touchscreen infotainment system with Skoda’s latest user interface that allows users to create shortcuts for frequently used settings and apps. Other notable features on offer include voice commands, ambient lighting, a larger map area for the navigation system, and keyless entry with Walkaway function that automatically locks the car when driver walks away with the key.

Skoda Enyaq: Expected India launch
Skoda is expected to launch the Enyaq electric SUV in India during the latter half of 2024. Initially, it will be available as a fully-imported CBU model with local assembly on cards in the future. Internationally, Skoda offers Enyaq in both SUV and coupe body styles, but only the former will make it to India.
