British sports car maker, McLaren, has unveiled the new GTS, which will replace the McLaren GT in the carmaker’s lineup. The new McLaren GTS has been designed to offer performance, while also being comfortable enough as a tourer while being able to carry luggage.
The McLaren GTS is built on a carbon fibre MonoCell II-T monocoque chassis, which is lighter and stiffer, while the exterior features signature styling with a new lower bumper. The front features pronounced air intakes to help cool the radiator better, while also getting taller air scoops at the rear.

Weighing 1520kg, McLaren claims that the GTS is the lightest car in its class offering the best power-to-weight ratio in the segment. Speaking about power, the GTS is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that makes 626bhp and 630Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed gearbox that helps the GTS accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 326kmph.
Helping keep that power at bay are carbon ceramic brakes with six-piston callipers at the front and four-piston callipers at the rear. Suspension duties are taken care of by aluminium double-wishbone suspension featuring McLaren’s adaptive damper technology.

The interior is meant to be a comfortable place with leather seats, machine-polished and knurled aluminium switches and controls, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, powered seats, and a 7-inch central touchscreen infotainment system with a host of features. The GTS features a 420-litre luggage space behind the driver’s cell with an electric tailgate and 150-litre storage in the nose of the car.
As with any McLaren, the GTS is offered with an endless list of customisation options, from carbon fibre exterior bits to interior trims, and a host of materials for the upholstery. There are several wheel choices and exterior colour trims as well.
