Renault India has officially launched the Renault Kwid with 1.0 L engine today at a starting price of Rs. 3.82 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Since its launch, the Renault Kwid has received an overwhelming response and finally the carmaker has launched the new Kwid with 1.0L SCe engine.
The newly launched Kwid is powered by a 1.0 L, aluminium, DOHC, 3-cylinder, petrol engine that produces 65hp of maximum power and 95Nm of peak torque. Paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, the car sends its power to the front wheels. The car maker will launch the AMT gearbox later this year. The 1.0L engine delivers a fuel economy of 23km/l, which is the same as the 800cc Kwid. The new 1.0L SCe engine has been inspired by a racing technology which has around 95 hp of power to weight ratio.
Dimensionally, the new hatchback is bigger in overall length than the Maruti Suzuki AltoK10 and Hyundai Eon. It measures 3679mm in length, 1579mm in width, 1478mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2422 mm. The car has a ground clearance of 180mm, while 28 L and 300 L of fuel tank capacity and boot space, respectively.
On the exterior front, the Kwid 1.0 L gets new equipment list such as dual tone ORVMs with electric adjustable mirrors, SCe badge and side body cladding. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with media NAV, in-built Navigation, Aux-in, Bluetooth connectivity, dual tone dashboard and an all-digital instrument cluster has also been equipped with the Kwid.
The car has also received safety features which include keyless entry, centre locking, front airbags and ABS system. The Renault Kwid is available in two trims RXT and RXT(O) with prices:
