
Renault India has announced that the Kwid 1.0 L will be launched on 22nd August 2016. The company had earlier showcased the Kwid 1.0 L at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Kwid AMT variant will be launched later this year. The Kwid 1.0 L is powered by a 999cc, single-cylinder SCe( Smart Control Efficiency), DOHC engine which churns out 67hp of power and 91Nm of peak torque. The unit is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The company has made minor cosmetic changes in the upcoming model, which includes body graphics and dual-coloured OVRMs.
Inside the cabin, the Kwid 1.0 L will continue to have the same features as the current Kwid 0.8 L model like 7-inch Media NAV system, remote key-less entry and driver side airbag as optional.
It is expected that Renault Kwid 1.0 L will be priced between Rs 3.5 lakh- Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
The car will be offered in two variants- RXT( Optional) and RXT. The company has started taking the booking of the car at an amount of Rs 10,000. The Kwid 1.0 L will directly compete with the Hyundai Eon 1.0 and Maruti Alto K10 in its segment.
