After a series of spy shots flooding the Internet, Renault’s sister company, Dacia has confirmed that the all-new Duster will break cover on November 29 in Portugal. Reports confirm that the Dacia SUV will be rebadged as Renault Duster in India, Brazil, South America region, Australia and New Zealand. There is still some time before we see the popular SUV on Indian roads as it is expected to make its debut here in 2025.

Next-gen Renault Duster: Engine options

Dacia or Renault, depending on which part of the world you live in, will offer three petrol engines — one naturally aspirated and two turbos and no diesel option. The Duster will come with a 1-litre turbo with an output of 108bhp, 118bhp 1.2-litre hybrid and 1.3-litre Turbo Flex engine. There is no confirmation on whether there will be an all-wheel-drive version available.

Next-gen Renault Duster: Two seating options

The Duster will continue to be a five-seater like its predecessor. This two-row SUV is expected to make its way to the Indian market. According to media reports, Dacia/Renault will also be introducing a seven-seater version which might be called Bigster, named after the SUV concept showcased in 2021. Based on reports revealed by Renault, the Bigster will be a 4.6-metre-long C-segment SUV.

Next-gen Renault Duster: Tough and solid design

The Duster sticks to its old-school no nonsense design ethos with a rough and tough road presence. With a raised bonnet, bullish squarish wheel arches and massive skid plates, the new Duster will stand apart from its competition like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

Based on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-B platform, this will help the company to heavily localise the Duster. From this platform, the alliance will roll out future electric vehicles based on the modular platform called CMF-B EV.

Next-gen Renault Duster: For India

The first generation Duster made its debut in India in 2012 and after a span of 10 years, the company halted the production in 2022. The original Duster kickstarted the mid-size SUV segment in India and the next-gen Renault SUV is expected to make a comeback here in 2025.
