Nissan Motor India has announced the Phase 2 rollout of its CNG retrofitment kit for the compact SUV, the Nissan Magnite. Building on the momentum of strong customer demand, this eco-friendly upgrade is now available at Nissan-authorised dealerships in Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu. This expansion follows the successful Phase 1 launch, which covered seven states — Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka. With Phase 2, the CNG retrofitment kit is now accessible in a total of 13 states, with preparations for Phase 3 already underway.
Nissan Magnite retrofit CNG kit: Cost, Warranty
The CNG retrofitment kit is developed and quality-assured by Motozen, a government-approved third-party vendor. Priced at an attractive Rs 74,999, the kit is available for the Nissan Magnite 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual transmission. Nissan, currently, has not revealed the output of the CNG, but the petrol engine model churns out 71 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 96 Nm at 3,400 – 3,600 rpm.
Installation is carried out at government-authorised fitment centres using a homologated kit that meets all local regulations and safety standards. Motozen backs the kit with a 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty, providing added peace of mind for customers. Despite the addition of the CNG kit, the Magnite retains its impressive 336-litre boot space, one of the largest in its segment, ensuring practicality is not compromised.
From feedback to fuel savings: Nissan Magnite CNG upgrade
The expansion of the CNG retrofitment option is a direct response to growing customer inquiries and the increasing demand for affordable, sustainable mobility solutions. After the initial rollout, customer feedback and third-party tests have shown that the CNG variant offers enhanced fuel economy compared to the standard petrol model. This makes the Magnite an even more attractive choice for cost-conscious and environmentally aware buyers.
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, emphasised the company’s commitment to evolving with customer needs — “The Phase 2 rollout of our CNG retrofitment option reflects both the growing demand for cleaner mobility and our intent to offer credible, high-quality alternatives without compromising on the core strengths of the Magnite.”
