Toyota Camry may not be a huge seller but a very well-built and premium car which has been running on Indian roads for over two decades. Ever since it was first launched in India in 2002, it has always catered to a niche segment of buyers. The Japanese auto giant is now gearing up to launch a new generation model of the D-segment sedan in India.
According to an Autocar India report, Toyota is all set to launch the ninth generation Camry in India early next year. Officially known as Camry XV80, the latest iteration of the premium executive saloon is expected to go on sale in early 2025. Like the current iteration, the new-gen Camry will be locally assembled in India via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits.
Production of the sedan is expected to commence very soon with an official debut expected at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo. Like its predecessor, the upcoming Camry will be based on the same TNGA-K platform which means the new-gen model will also be available with a strong hybrid powertrain. And just like the previous generation models, the new Camry will focus on rear seat comfort, fuel efficiency, and reliability.
2025 Toyota Camry: Design
As seen in the images, the new Camry gets evolutionary design updates over the previous model. The most notable updates at the front include a sleeker grille paired with redesigned LED headlights featuring integrated daytime running lights, along with a reshaped front bumper that incorporates wider air intakes. The side profile highlights a streamlined roofline, a sculpted body, and 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels in black and smoke grey finishes.

At the rear, the new-generation Camry showcases wraparound LED taillights, a rear lip spoiler, and a redesigned diffuser with a dual-tip exhaust for added sportiness. Other standout exterior features include a shark-fin antenna, chrome “CAMRY” lettering on the trunk, and a new clamshell hood. The overall design is reminiscent of the US-spec Prius. In addition, there are two new colour options on offer: Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal. The top-spec trim will benefit from two-tone paint schemes with a black roof.
2025 Toyota Camry: Features
The next-generation Camry will come packed with all bells and whistles, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, USB-A and USB-C ports, wireless charging, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, WiFi with 4G connectivity, connected car technology with over-the-air updates, optional heated and ventilated seats, and more.

Toyota will also offer a Safety Sense 3.0 package, which offers a suite of advanced safety features such as a 360-degree parking camera, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. It also includes Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, pedestrian detection, and more.
2025 Toyota Camry: Powertrain
Powering the 2025 Toyota Camry will be the same 2.5-litre hybrid engine as the current model that can be had in front and all-wheel-drive configurations. The India-spec model is likely to receive the former only. It will receive hybrid assistance from two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors at the front axle, producing a total output of 222 bhp which is a bump of 9 horses over the outgoing model.
