Hyundai is working on the next-generation Creta — news we know. However, Hyundai is also working on the updated Venue, confirmed by a prototype picture. The updated Hyundai Venue is expected to be launched in India around this festive season, as the spy pictures have seen a close-to-ready vehicle in Korea, the carmaker’s hometown.

New Hyundai Venue — What to expect?

The upcoming Hyundai Venue retains the overall design, however, it gets a more boxy styling. Under the camo looks like redesigned headlights and a new grille, while a radar-like module at the front hints at ADAS Level 2 tech. The side profile also looks more muscular with squared-off wheel arches and roof rails, giving the upcoming Venue a more muscular look.

While these pictures do not showcase the interior of the new Venue, one can expect changes such as an updated dash, a large infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a digital instrument cluster perhaps, ventilated seats, wireless charging, multiple airbags, reversing camera, a 360-degree camera, and more.

New Hyundai Venue — Engine specifications and competition

The updated Hyundai Venue is expected to retain the same powertrain options which include two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The petrol engines include a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre mill that makes 82bhp and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 118bhp. The last engine choice will be a 113bhp 1.5-litre diesel.

Gearbox choices will include a manual, an automatic torque converter, and a DSG gearbox. When launched, it will take on competitors such as the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3X0, and others in the highly competitive sub-4 metre SUV segment.
