Honda launched the third generation Amaze in India at a starting price of Rs 8.00 lakh (ex-showroom), however, to the disappointment of many there is not much to call this car all new. Yeah sure it gets a refreshed exterior and interior design but the underpinnings and powertrain remain completely unchanged from its predecessor.
That said, the compact sedan receives many new features in its latest iteration including some segment best ones. Here’s a brief rundown of all five segment best features offered in the new Honda Amaze.
Honda Amaze: Ground Clearance
Honda has increased the ground clearance of the new Amaze by 2 mm which now stands at 172mm which is the highest in its segment. Other models in this segment have lower ground clearance.
Honda Amaze: Paddle shifters with AT
Another significant addition to the Amaze are paddle shifters in the automatic variants. The Amaze is the only sedan in this space which gets a CVT automatic gearbox whereas all its rivals get AMT. The paddle shifter allows the driver to manually operate the 7-step CVt for a more engaging drive experience which is definitely more fun than the triptronic function offered in the AMT gearboxes.

Honda Amaze: Lane Watch Camera
Honda has added a Lane Watch Camera to the equipment of the new Amaze. This allows the driver the convenience of parking and turning in tight corners and spaces without nicking the doors or fenders. The camera essentially acts as a blind spot monitor which comes active on the central touchscreen while reversing or when activating the turn indicators.
Honda Amaze: Level 2 ADAS
Called Honda Sensing, the Japanese carmaker has also added a camera-based Level 2 Advanced Drives Assistance System (ADAS) to the package in Amaze. This ADAS suite offers safety features such as Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), etc.

Honda Amaze: Remote engine start/stop
Another convenience added to the new Amaze is a new key fob which lets owners start/stop the car’s engine remotely. However, this feature has been limited to the automatic variants only.
