Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, has introduced in the Indian market the most powerful and fastest Audi ever built, the R8 V10 Plus. The car, which was unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year, is priced Rs 2.55 crore, ex-showroom, Maharashtra.
It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.2 FSI quattro V10 mid-engine that produces a peak output of 610 hp (449 kW) which propels the car from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 330 kph. At 1,454 kg, it is much lighter than its predecessor. The car was launched by Joe King, head, Audi India, and cricketer Virat Kohli at an event at Taneja Airstrip near Bangalore.
“Since our entry into India in 2007, we have defined the way the luxury car market has evolved by launching more than 40 products in the country. Luxury to us is about choice and our wide range of models have helped us build an extremely strong foundation in India. We are looking forward to a sustained profitable growth as we complete a decade in the country,” said King.
Audi India, which is facing strong competition from Mercedes-Benz India, currently has sold 55,000 cars in the country. It has also build a fan base of 1.2 lakh Twitter followers and over 35 lakh Facebook fans.
