A couple of days after teasing it on social media handles, MG Motor has launched the Blackstorm Edition in the market. It is the fourth Blackstorm model in the MG lineup after Hector, Gloster, and Astor. Based on the top-spec Exclusive trim, the new Comet Blackstorm edition is priced at Rs 7.80 lakh in the Battery as a Service (BaaS) module with a battery rental of Rs 2.5 per km.
This makes the Comet Blackstorm Rs 30,000 dearer than the Exclusive trim. Bookings for the same are currently underway at a token amount of Rs 11,000. As seen in the teaser earlier, the Backstrom edition of the micro electric hatchback gets cosmetic upgrades over the standard Comet.
MG Comet Blackstorm: Exterior & Interiors
The Comet Blackstorm edition is wrapped in a Starry Black colour scheme with dark chrome and black badges. The all-black exterior is complemented by red accents on lower bumper lip, LED DRLs, alloy wheels, and side cladding on the doors. Further, it gets bold “MORRIS GARAGES” lettering embossed above the nose. The rest of the exterior design is identical to the regular Comet EV.

Inside the cabin, the Comet Blackstorm boasts of an all-black cabin with the fabric seat upholstery wrapped in a black shade complemented by red Blackstorm branding on the headrests. Further, the red stitching on the seats provide a sporty contrast inside the cabin.

Since, it is based on the top-spec Exclusive trim, the Comet Blackstorm edition packs goodies such as dual 10.25-inch displays for the touchscreen infotainment and the driver’s instrumentation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, keyless entry, and powered ORVMs. That said, MG has upgraded the music system which now comprises four speakers instead of two.
The Blackstorm edition prioritizes passenger safety with standard features including two airbags, a reverse parking camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
Powering the MG Comet Blackstorm is a rear wheel-mounted motor tuned to produce 41 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque. This motor derives its energy from a 17.4 kWh battery that promises a range of 230 km on a single charge.
