JSW MG Motor is gearing up to introduce its third electric vehicle, the Windsor. Originally branded as the Cloud EV under the sister company Wuling, this crossover utility vehicle (CUV) will be positioned below the ZS EV and is expected to have a price tag of under Rs 20 lakh.
MG Windsor: What is it?
Earlier, we had reported that MG Motor is gearing up to launch a CUV EV ahead of the festival period and the trademark filed by the company confirms that the vehicle is named Windsor. It will also be the first CUV EV in this segment. Based on how the Cloud EV’s design, the new CUV will get a split headlight design with connected LED DRLs. The side profile is clean and comes with flush door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels. The charging flap is also on the side below the A-pillar. Coming to the rear, it gets a roof spoiler and connected LED tail lamps. To give it a distinctive look, blacked-out pillars, big quarter glass and a panoramic roof.
MG Windsor: Features
According to MG Motor, the Windsor will offer the best of a sedan and an SUV. Hence, the cabin is expected to be spacious and will sport a massive 15.6-inch infotainment system. The Windsor will get a 360-degree camera, electric tailgate, leather leather-wrapped steering wheel. In terms of safety, the CUV will also get the ADAS feature.
MG Windsor: Specs and Dimensions
Based on the battery options the Wuling Cloud EV offers, there will be two options. The entry-level Windsor could get a 37 kWh battery pack offering a driving range of 360 km while the top model could get a 50 kWh battery with a range of up to 460 km.
Even the Windsor could go up against the Tata Nexon, but in terms of dimensions the MG EV is a bigger vehicle. It is based on a 2700 mm wheelbase, 4295 mm in length, 1850 mm in width and 1652 mm in height.
