Mercedes Benz has officially taken the covers off the 20234 AMG GLC Coupe. Available in two trims– 43 4Matic and 63 S E PERFORMANCE, it is the latest luxury performance car to have undergone the brunt of stricter emission norms, as engineers at Affalterbach have downsized from a six-cylinder mill to a four-cylinder unit under its hood.
2024 Mercedes GLC Coupe: Exterior design
Like any other Coupe SUV, the new GLC Coupe gives out polarised opinions about its design courtesy of a hunched-back stance. Overall silhouette and visual attributes remain similar to the outgoing model with highlights such as the signature AMG vertical slatted grille with the three-pointed star logo at the centre, a lower front bumper for a sportier stance, and wide air splitters for improved aerodynamics.

On the sides, the sharply sloping roofline of the coupe is the highlight along with 21-inch fish-fitting alloy wheels AMG-specific side skirting. At the rear, it gets a prominent boot lid spoiler, and an aggressive bumper housing a diffuser and a quad-tip exhaust.
2024 Mercedes GLC Coupe: Interiors, features
Inside the cabin, the AMG GLC Coupe differentiates from the standard GLC Coupe thanks to MG-specific steering wheel, seats, floor mats, sports pedals, and illuminated door sills. Otherwise, the interior layout remains the same as the standard GLC Coupe. Highlights of the cabin include a 11.9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch fully-digital driver’s instrumentation.

2024 Mercedes GLC Coupe: Powertrain specs
However, the biggest update has been witnessed under its hood. The base AMG GLC Coupe 43 4Matic is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that pumps out a massive 416 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission and Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel drive system.
As for performance, the AMG GLC Coupe 43 sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds while the crossover can clock a top speed of 250 kmph.
Coming to the 63 S E PERFORMANCE trim, it gets the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor but here it is paired with an electric motor. This plug-in hybrid powertrain dishes out a combined output of 672 bhp and 1020 Nm of peak torque. It can achieve the 0-100 kmph sprint in a meagre 3.5 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited at 275 km.
Interestingly, the battery has been tuned to provide the engine more power and hence the electric-only driving range is limited to 12 km. Added performance means, the coupe SUV gets stiffer suspension, active roll bars, adaptive damping, upgraded sports brakes, rear wheel steering, and a speed-sensitive steering.
