Mercedes-Benz has announced a price increase for all models across its lineup in India from 1 January 2025. The German marque has declared a price hike of up to 3 percent although it is yet to be clarified if this hike will be uniform across the entire range.

Mercedes-Benz price hike details

As per the company, the reason for the latest hike is attributed to rising commodity prices and higher logistics expenses driven by persistent inflationary pressures that have posed significant strain on Mercedes’ overall operational costs in India. This price correction will offset some of the cost pressure to run a sustainable business.

The latest price hike will translate into an increment of up to Rs 2 lakh for entry-level models like GLC and up to Rs 9 lakh for flagship models like the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 luxury limousine. However, the company has clarified that the price correction will apply to those vehicles which currently are not in stock, offering price protection for all existing and future bookings until 31 December 2024.

The brand further says that it is “absorbing” most of the cost pressures and passing on a “nominal” portion to the market. Mercedes-Benz is the first carmaker to announce a price hike for the upcoming calendar year. This is expected to be followed by other carmakers in India, especially the luxury segment of cars.

Prices for the Mercedes-Benz range starts from Rs 46.05 lakh for the A-Class Limousine and goes up to Rs. 3.60 crore for the AMG G63 G-Wagon. The German luxury carmaker currently offers 32 car models in India, including 14 SUVs, 12 sedans, 1 hatchback, 3 convertible models, and 2 coupe models.
