Maserati might not be a very popular car brand in India, but the Italian carmaker is synonymous for making some of the most exotic luxury cars available. The company will be expanding its lineup in India with some of its latest offerings— Grecale and Gran Turismo– to go on sale soon.
Maserati Grecale: Specs, rivals & expected launch
The first launch of Maserati will be the Grecale SUV which is expected to hit Indian roads by early 2024. Globally unveiled in March 2022, pre-bookings for Grecale are expected to commence by the end of 2023. Globally, the luxury SUV is available in three variants namely— GT, Modena and Trofeo. All three trims of the SUV are likely to be offered in India.
Upon launch, Grecale is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 90 lakh and Rs 1.20 crore (ex-showroom). This means it will rival other luxury super SUVs such as Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe (Rs 77 lakh to Rs 1.09 crore) and Porsche Macan (Rs 88 lakh to Rs 1.53 crore). Grecale also gets an all-electric Folgore derivative which will also make its way to India by Q1 2025.

Maserati offers two engine options with Grecale. The base GT and mid-spec Modena trims are powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid petrol engine. However, in the GT variant this motor pushes out 296 bhp, while in the Modena trim it dishes out 325 bhp. Torque outputs on both variants are identical 450 Nm at 2000-5000 rpm.
The mild-hybrid system on the two variants consists of an electric compressor, a belt-starter generator and a 48V battery. The top-spec Trofeo variant comes with a more powerful 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine producing 523 bhp and 620 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties on all three variants are carried out by an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
Maserati Gran Turismo: Specs, rivals & expected launch
The second big launch of Maserati in India next year will be the second-gen Gran Turismo. The two-door coupe sedan will be launched in India in the second quarter of 2024. Like Grecale, the Gran Turismo gets an all-electric Folgore derivative which is expected to join the Maserati India lineup by the end of 2024.

Upon launch, Gran Turismo is expected to be priced around Rs 2.5 crore (ex-showroom) which will make it a competitor to Bentley Continental GT. It is universally available in a 2+2 seating configuration. It is available in two trims– Modena and Trofeo.
Powering Gran Turismo is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine mounted just behind the front axle. This motor pumps out 485 bhp and 660 Nm of peak torque in the base trims whereas in the range-topping Trofeo variant, it delivers 543 bhp and 660 Nm of torque. Like Grecale, all variants of Gran Turismo will be available with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
