Mahindra is working on a mid-cycle facelift of the XUV700. This will be the first significant update to the XUV700 ever since it was first launched in 2021. Now, the facelifted XUV700 has been caught on camera for the first time. A test mule of the updated XUV700 completely wrapped underneath a camouflage has been spotted testing in a hilly region.
Mahindra XUV700 facelift: Changes expected
The updates, although small, are noticeable and give the car a different appeal. For instance, the sleek headlamp cluster of the current model will give way to circular LED units. The C-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) in the present XUV700 are also given a miss. Instead the circular headlamps get an LED ring that is expected to function as a DRL.

Besides the headlamp, the spy images show two auxiliary lights sticking out which isn’t likely to be part of the finished product. The grille also sees a significant revision in design as we see more slats incorporated. The lower lip of the bumper also sees a sleeker air dam vent. The rest of the design seems very familiar to the current model. Elements such as alloy wheel design, silhouette and taillights look the same as the current model.
Apart from cosmetic changes, we expect Mahindra to add a few more conveniences even though it is easily the most feature-packed car in its segment. New features like front and rear ventilated seats, a triple screen setup on dashboard, an upgraded Harman audio with Dolby atmosphere, digital key with NFC technology, and more are expected to be added to the equipment.
Mahindra XUV700 facelift: Engine options
Mechanically, we don’t expect any changes in the updated XUV700. It is expected to come with the same engine options: a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol unit and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel mill. Both engines get two gearbox options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. There is also an optional all-wheel drive setup with the top-spec diesel automatic trim.
