Mahindra Thar Roxx updates: Three subtle tweaks that pack a major punch

The Thar is Mahindra’s second-best-selling vehicle despite having a waiting period varying from four months to 18 months. The Indian SUV maker has now decided to introduce key updates to the 2025 Thar Roxx. The SUV now offers a set of new convenient features. 2025 Mahindra Thar Roxx: What’s new? 

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is a packed SUV with state-of-the-art features like Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Before we talk about what functions it already has, let’s dive deep into the 2025 updates. Mahindra has upped the ante by introducing keyless entry. It may not sound like a big upgrade as the Thar Roxx already came with a key fob with which the vehicle could locked and unlocked. One can’t overlook the convenience factor as one now doesn’t need to frantically search for the key but rather simply unlock the door thanks to the sensor. 

For added comfort for the front passenger, the arm rest now gets a sliding feature for better support. Talking about giving attention to detail, Mahindra has changed the wipers and in come a new aerodynamic set, which is expected to be more effective and keep cabin noise down to a minimal. 

2025 Mahindra Thar Roxx: Engine Specifications

The Thar Roxx is available in two engine options — the 2-litre petrol and the 2.2-litre diesel. Both engines come in two power outputs and are mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter. The petrol-only gets a rear-wheel-drive and produces 160 bhp and 330 Nm for the manual and 174 bhp and 380 Nm for the automatic.

The diesel, on the other hand, comes in rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive. The former in manual and automatic trims churn out 150 bhp and 330 Nm while the 4WD makes 173 bhp at 370 Nm and only comes in automatic. The Mahindra costs from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 23.09 lakh, ex-showroom.
