Mahindra Thar Earth edition: Exterior
This special edition is inspired by the infinite expanse of the Thar desert. Lending a distinct identity to the Thar Earth Edition is a unique satin matte paint scheme named Desert Fury wrapped around the exterior. Complementing the matte satin finish is the metallic treatment very effectively capturing the ‘sand sparkle’.
The dune inspired decals on the doors and rear fender, the silver alloys, and the matte black badges add to its uniqueness. The Earth Edition badge, proudly displayed on the B pillars, amplifies this special edition’s exclusivity. Further visual enhancements such as the ORVMS with Desert Fury inserts, body-coloured grille, and Thar branding inserts on the alloy wheels, give the SUV a distinctive appeal.
Moreover, the Mahindra wordmark and the ‘Thar’ branding are now finished in matte black. The ‘4×4’ and ‘Automatic’ lettering are also available in matte black with contrast red accents.
Mahindra Thar Earth edition: Interior
Inside the cabin, the Thar Earth Edition wears an all-black theme with light beige accents. Mahindra offers this special edition model with beige leatherette seats featuring dune designs on the headrests. The cabin is further enhanced with Desert Fury inserts on the dual-tone AC vents, steering wheel, centre console accent and the Thar branding on doors.

The theme is elevated with embellishments of dark chrome accents around the central gear console and cup holders along with piano black finish around the HVAC controls. Each of the Thar Earth Edition SUVs will come with a unique numbered decorative VIN plate starting with serial number 1.
While the feature list remains the same, Mahindra is offering optional accessories with the Thar Earth edition including customised front and rear armrests, 7D floor mats, and a comfort kit.
Mahindra Thar Earth edition: Powertrain
As mentioned earlier, Mahindra is offering the Thar Earth edition in both petrol and diesel guises. The former gets a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine that kicks out 150 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. The latter, on the other hand, is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine churning out 130 bhp and 300-320 Nm of torque.

Both engines are offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. A 4×4 drivetrain with a low-range transfer case is a standard offering for both powertrain options.
