Mahindra & Mahindra has been on a high since the beginning of the year and continues to be the second most successful automobile manufacturer in India. To push the numbers further, the Indian SUV maker is offering discounts on the 3XO, which sold 7,089 units in June. This is a 17% dip year-on-year. The second from the top variant, the AX5, is now available with Rs 20,000 off. The XUV 3XO goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet.
Mahindra 3XO AX5 now more affordable: Prices
Mahindra has rejigged the MRP of the 3XO because it recently launched the REVX range, which comes in three trims — REVX M, REVX M(O) and REVX A. The REVX M and the REVX M(O) are slotted in the entry-level, while it is positioned between the AX5 and the AX5L.
The AX5 petrol manual costs Rs 10.99 lakh, while the automatic is Rs 12.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The diesel versions, manual and automatic, are priced at Rs 12.19 lakh and Rs 12.99 lakh.
The new REVX range is only available in petrol and has three variants — REVX M at Rs 8.94 lakh, REVX M (O) at Rs 9.44 lakh, and REVX A starting at Rs 11.79 lakh.
Mahindra 3XO: Engine Specifications
The XUV 3XO is available in two petrol engine options — the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and the 1.2-litre turbo. The NA produces 110 bhp at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm at 1500-3500 rpm. On the other hand, the turbo petrol churns out 129 bhp at 5,000 rpm and 230 Nm at 1500-3750 rpm. The NA engine is only available with a 6-speed manual, while the turbo sports a 6-speed automatic torque converter.
The 1.5-litre diesel manual makes 115 bhp at 3750 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The automatic comes with an AMT gearbox and has a higher torque output of 300 Nm at 1500 – 2500 rpm.
