Mahindra is working on a pickup based on the new Scorpio N, and the concept, called the Global Pik-up concept, was showcased in 2023. Mahindra also said that the production version will arrive soon and for the first time, the pickup has been spotted testing in India. Here are more details about the new Scorpio N pickup.
Mahindra Scorpio N pickup — More details
When Mahindra first showcased the Global Pik-up concept, the carmaker said it was still in its concept form, however, there were parts that seemed that the vehicle was closer to production. Mahindra also announces its intention to launch the pickup in Australia and South Africa ahead of the Indian market.
The concept was a twin-cabin setup, however, the model spotted testing gets a single-cabin and a long bed, hinting that this could be for the global markets and not for India. The interior is not shown in the image, but expect it to be similar to the Pik-up concept.
As per Mahindra, the pickup will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine and the carmaker could also offer a petrol mill. However, for India, it is likely that the new Scorpio N pickup will feature a twin-cab setup with a diesel engine only, since the closest competitor, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, is offered with a diesel engine only, as well as the Toyota Hilux.
