Mahindra started a new chapter in the electric vehicle (EV) segment with the launch of two Electric Origin SUVs — XEV 9e and BE 6 — late last year. Deliveries of both battery-powered SUVs started last month and the company has shared details of its dispatched orders.
The Chakan-based carmaker delivered 3014 units of the Born Electric SUVs last month in the domestic market. This number includes the combined sales volume of XEV 9e and BE 6. Although Mahindra hasn’t provided the exact breakdown of each volume, the company states it has registered a demand of 59 percent for the XEV 9e and 41 percent for the BE 6.
Mahindra also revealed that the waiting period of both electric SUVs have extended up to six months in selected regions. The company is actively scaling up deliveries nationwide to reduce wait times. To make a smoother buying experience every vehicle delivery comes with a thoughtfully curated collection of video guides designed to help customers get the most out of their EV experience.

These guides offer practical advice on efficient charging, driving techniques to maximize range, and a detailed overview of the vehicle’s advanced connected features — enabling new owners to fully harness the capabilities of their electric SUVs from day one.
Mahindra has also introduced a new ‘Default’ drive mode that has been designed specifically for first-time EV adopters. This mode delivers a driving experience similar to that of internal combustion vehicles, ensuring a smoother, more intuitive, and instantly familiar transition to electric.
