
Lexus will officially enter the Indian car market today with the launch of the ES, RX and the LX range. The company has already started accepting bookings for Lexus models, which will be sold as CBU (Completely-Built Units). Lexus will sell the new vehicles in limited numbers and at a later stage, might start local assembly of its models. Here’s a look at the models that will mark the official entry of Lexus in India.
Lexus ES300h sedan

From the ES range, the company will launch the Lexus ES300h that is expected to be priced around Rs 75 lakh, ex-showroom. The ES300h is a sedan which is based on the Toyota Camry and will also share the engine options with the Camry Hybrid. The Lexus ES300h will be powered by a 2.5 litre petrol engine along with an electric motor, paired to a CVT gearbox.
Lexus RX450h SUV

The Lexus RX450h will be a hybrid SUV that will get its power from a 3.5 litre, V6 petrol engine along with Toyota’s hybrid technology, which will also power the upcoming Prius. The engine will produce a combined power of 308 hp and will be paired to an e-CVT gearbox. The Lexus RX450h is likely to be priced at Rs 1.17 crore, ex-showroom.

Lexus LX450d SUV

The third model that will be launched is expected to be the Lexus LX450d. It will carry a price tag of around Rs 2 crore, ex-showroom. The LX450d SUV will share its platform with the Toyota Land Cruiser and will be offered with a choice of two engine options. Powering the SUV is expected to be a 5.7 litre V8 engine that develops 383 hp of power and 546 Nm of torque. The diesel variant will get a 4.5-litre V8 twin-turbo unit that produces 269 hp and 650 Nm. The car manufacturer will also offer the Lexus LX450d with five-seat and seven-seat configurations, depending on the variant. The Lexus LX450d is expected to be priced at Rs 2 crore, ex-showroom.
