Lamborgini is betting big on making its supercars future-proof. As the company recently launched the first hybrid flagship Revuelto, it also indicated that the plan is to introduce a pure electric car by 2028. However, before that they want to nybridise all their existing models.
Speaking to Financial Express Online, Automobili Lamborghini Region Director for Asia Pacific, Francesco Scardaoni said , “As part of the electrification plan for Lamborghini – we see first the introduction of hybrid cars. In 2023, we have taken the first steps towards hybridisation, next year we will introduce hybrid versions of the Urus and the Huracan and by 2025 all our product range will be hybridised. 2028, we target introducing a fourth model, the first pure electric Lamborghini. We just released the concept of the car.”

However, does hybridisation necessitate a compromise to the entire supercar experience? Scardaoni reiterated the various design additions that the carmaker has used to ensure that the users don’t miss out on that experience aspect. “The battery is located in the centre position to ensure that the centre of gravity is not affected and also the handling of the car does not get altered. The two electric motors at the front axle allow the car to be permanent E-four wheel drive and also with an active torque vectoring,” he explained while highlighting the unique elements that makes the Revuelto stand out.
Given the growing demand of luxury cars in India, Scardaoni added that the “Luxury car market in India is progressing at an amazing pace. We have a positive outlook for Lamborghini in India. We see encouraging growth trends seen across the Asia Pacific region for electric and hybrid cars. We believe that this is all a step in the right direction.”
