Kia Seltos is one of the most popular mid-size SUVs in the Indian market. It received a major upgrade earlier in July this year which witnessed a few styling tweaks, some significant feature additions, and a new engine option on offer. Prices for the new Seltos start at Rs 10.90 lakh and go up to Rs 20.30 lakh (both ex-showroom).

The Korean carmaker has announced a price reduction of Rs 2,000 on certain variants of Seltos. This surprising development comes almost a month after the company had increased prices of the Seltos by up to Rs 30,000. The reason for the latest price deduction is the deletion of a key feature from some of its variants.

Kia Seltos prices reduced, feature deleted

Kia has reportedly reduced prices of 1.5 petrol MT HTX, 1.5 turbo-petrol iMT HTX+, 1.5 turbo-petrol DCT GTX+(S), 1.5-litre turbo-petrol DCT GTX+, 1.5-litre diesel iMT HTX+, and the 1.5-litre diesel AT GTX+(S) by Rs 2,000. The most likely reason for this price reduction is the removal of one-touch up/down functions for all four power windows in these variants.

Prices of all other variants remain unchanged. Earlier, this feature was offered in all variants from the HTX+ trim onwards. Now, after the latest development, only the top-spec X-Line trim retains one-touch up and down function for all four windows. The other variants get a one-touch up and down function for only the driver’s window.

Other notable features offered in the top-spec Seltos include twin 10.25 inch screens— one for instrumentation and the other for infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Bose premium audio system, Kia Connect telematics, panoramic sunroof, and ADAS among others.

Kia Seltos engine, gearbox specs

Kia Seltos offer three engine options to consider including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.5-litre diesel mill, and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor. The 1.5-litre oil burner gets a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic as transmission choices. The 1.5-litre NA petrol mill can be had with either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol mill comes paired with either a 6-speed or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
