It is a known fact that Jeep is working on a new generation Compass which will also include the first ever fully-electric Compass. Recently a fully-camouflaged prototype was caught on cameras which were believed to be the battery-powered version of the Compass. Now, another set of images have surfaced online which provide a clear look at the upcoming all-electric Compass.
All set to make its grand debut in Europe next week, the new-gen Jeep Compass, including the plug-hybrid and fully-electric derivatives, will be built on parent company Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform. This architecture is utilised by other brands in the Stellantis group of companies. The latest model to be underpinned by this platform is the new-gen Citroen C5 Aircross which is also offered multiple powertrain configurations.
Jeep Compass EV: Exterior & Interiors
The updated Compass, following the design direction of the new Jeep Avenger, sports a refreshed front end with vertical LED headlights and a sealed grille. At the rear, there are ‘X-shaped’ LED taillights connected by an LED strip featuring a lit Jeep logo in the middle. One variant features the letter “e” on the bumper, indicating it is likely the electric model. The profile remains pretty much the same which is muscular and boxy.

Inside the cabin, there’s a dual-tone upholstery featuring the signature ‘X’ motif on the backrests. The interior follows a minimalist design, highlighted by a central display and a streamlined center console. With any luck, the official photos will also show some physical buttons and knobs, rather than relying solely on the central touchscreen for all controls.
Jeep Compass EV: Expected powertrain
While Jeep has yet to disclose official powertrain specifications, the Compass EV is expected to offer two battery options: 73 kWh and 97 kWh, with a claimed single-charge range of 519 km and 679 km, respectively. The same battery packs are offered with the recently unveiled The range-topping version is likely to feature a dual-motor setup for enhanced performance.

The second-generation Jeep Compass for the European market will be manufactured at Stellantis’s Melfi plant in Italy. Production of the SUV will also start in Brazil at a later stage. It looks unlikely that the new-gen Compass will make it to India. Some online reports previously suggested that Stellantis might not launch the all-new Compass in India, citing concerns about the project’s viability in the local market. However, Stellantis has not made any official announcement on the matter.
