Suzuki Auto has showcased the India-made Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza with AMT gearbox at the 2016 Indonesia Auto Show. The car maker has also showcased the models that are expected to make its way to the India market soon, which include the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross with a 1.5 L petrol engine and the highly-anticipated all-new Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Maruti Suzuki hasn’t made an official statement on this model’s India launch yet.
The Vitara Brezza AMT that was displayed at the auto show had the same 1.3 L, diesel-powered variant, which gets the AMT transmission. Currently, Maruti sells the SUV with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.3 L engine mated to an AMT unit is available only on the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire.
Expectedly, the Indian-spec model will come with the same powertrain and the present power output figures. The current model develops 89 hp and 200 Nm of peak power and torque. Similarly, the car manufacturer might not change the styling and interiors of the Vitara Brezza. It is expected to come with the same equipment list such as projector headlamps with LEDs, piano black centre cabin, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Smart Connect.
The Maruti Suzuki Ignis was also showcased at the motor show with 1.2 L petrol unit. The same model is expected to hit the Indian market soon this year, powered by the 1.3 L, diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki will offer the hatchback with a choice of both 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.
