The Maruti Suzuki DZire is a sub-4 metre sedan, which is also the segment leader in the country. It is powered by two engine options namely a 1.2 L petrol and a 1.3 L diesel that are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. For additional comfort, the compact sedan also comes with automatic gearboxes for both engines. The K-series petrol engine generates 83 hp power at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm while the DDiS diesel generates 74 hp at 4,000 rpm and 190 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The petrol motor is a naturally aspirated unit, whereas the diesel engine is a fixed geometry turbo charger with an intercooler.
