The anticipation for the launch of the 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift is building up. It gained more momentum ever since Hyundai released a promotional teaser featuring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone on the company’s social media handles. This is the first major update to the second-gen Creta launched in February 2020.
Set to be launched on January 16, pre-bookings for the new Creta have already commenced via the company’s website and dealerships for a token amount of 25,000. Ahead of its India debut, details regarding the engine and variants breakup are out.
Hyundai Creta facelift: Gets only 1 turbo petrol variant
Earlier it was revealed that the updated Creta will be offered in seven trims namely– E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, SX (O). These variants will be further divided into as many as 19 variants, out of which only one will be a turbo petrol variant. It is already known to us that Hyundai will offer three engine options with the new Creta– 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel, and a new 1.5-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol.Â

The 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit earlier made its debut in the new-gen Verna in 2022 and later found its way into the facelifted Seltos last year. This engine will only be available in the top-spec SX(O) trim. Further, this motor will be exclusively paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Hence, it is restricted to a single variant. This turbo petrol mill dishes out 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque.
Hyundai Creta facelift: exterior, interior updates
The 2024 Creta facelift will receive significant visual upgrades including a completely redesigned front face featuring a new grille with a parametric jewel theme, revised projector LED headlights, H-shaped LED DRLs, and a new bumper. At the rear, it will feature redesigned tailgate housing connected taillights with H-shaped LED elementá¹£, and reprofiled rear bumpers.

As far as interiors are concerned, the dashboard layout is new with a twin-screen layout, redesigned air con vents, HVAC controls with a new touch panel, and new dual-tone shades. In terms of features, the facelifted Creta will receive a new touchscreen infotainment unit, a revised instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, 360-degree parking camera, six airbags, and Level 2 ADAS active safety features.
