The Indian SUV launched the Thar Roxx last year on August 15 and received some stick over its cabin colour options. Thankfully, Mahindra has listened to the chorus of complaints and swapped the white interiors for practical mocha grey. Now you can enjoy your off-road adventures without worrying about every speck of dust or mud showing up like a neon sign.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: What’s new?

Based on the latest spy images, Mahindra has started delivering the Thar Roxx in Grey Mocha interiors to its dealerships. The new Mocha Grey replaces the Ivory White cabin, which was an impractical choice of colour for those interested in venturing out for off-roading. This is the Thar Roxx’s second cabin update as Mahindra had earlier introduced Mocha Brown interiors, but it is limited to the 4×4 version, which is exclusively available in diesel.Â
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Subtle updates
Mahindra has enhanced the Thar Roxx with three new user-friendly features, initially showcased in Bollywood actor John Abraham’s customized version of the SUV. The updated model now includes keyless entry, a feature that adds significant convenience. While the Thar Roxx already came equipped with a key fob for locking and unlocking, the new sensor-based system eliminates the need to search for the key, allowing seamless access to the vehicle.
Additionally, the front passenger seat now features a sliding armrest, offering improved comfort and support. Mahindra has also paid attention to finer details by upgrading the wipers to a more aerodynamic design. This change is expected to enhance their effectiveness while reducing cabin noise, ensuring a quieter and more refined driving experience.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Engine Specifications
Thar Roxx offers two engine options — the 2-litre petrol and the 2.2-litre diesel. Both have two power outputs and are mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter. The petrol manual churns out 160 bhp and 330 Nm while the automatic makes 174 bhp and 380 Nm. The Thar Roxx petrol only comes with a rear-wheel-drive system.
The Thar Roxx diesel, on the other hand, is available in rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive. The former version in manual and automatic trims churn out 150 bhp and 330 Nm while the 4WD makes 173 bhp at 370 Nm and only comes in automatic. The Thar Roxx is priced from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 23.09 lakh, ex-showroom.
