Last November, Mahindra burst into the electric vehicle scene like a Bollywood hero making a grand entrance, launching the eye-catching BE 6 and XEV 9e SUVs. Deliveries kicked off in March, and have delivered over 10,000 of these electric SUVs. A YouTube content creator tracked down a Mahindra BE 6 owner to get the lowdown on ownership. What’s incredible is that the EV owner claims his BE 6 pretty much matched Mahindra’s claimed 500 km plus range on a single charge.
Mahindra BE 6 reveals real-world range
Mahindra is offering the BE 6 in five variants — Pack One 59 kWh, Pack One Above 59 kWh, Pack Two 59 kWh, Pack Three Select 59 kWh and Pack Three 79 kWh. On the @RajniChaudhary YouTube channel, BE 6 owner Gaurav spills the beans on this variant, on how it’s matching Mahindra’s claim of a 500 km plus range on a single charge.
Gaurav, took his new electric steed on a drive from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, to Gurugram, Haryana, with just a quick pit stop for a 20-minute, 30% charge on a 120 kWh charger, like giving his EV a power nap. The day after his BE 6 was delivered, Gaurav, hit the road for a trip to Ayodhya, where the EV flexed a real-world range of 460 km. Before its first servicing, a Lucknow-to-Gurugram drive clocked 483 km. After servicing this beast delivered a jaw-dropping 520 km range, making Mahindra’s 500 km-plus claim look like it’s strutting its stuff on the highway catwalk.
Gaurav, who’s been researching electric vehicles for two years before buying the BE 6, shared his secret sauce for these epic ranges. He switched to Range mode, set the cruise control to 90 kmph, and kicked back to enjoy the drive. He also confessed to a naughty moment, pushing the BE 6 past 150 kmph then quickly added a “don’t try this at home” warning, because, you know, safety first.
Mahindra BE 6 is the safest car: Owner
When asked about the slew of accidents and technical snags in EVs, without mincing any words, Gaurav said that the BE 6 is the safest vehicle made by an Indian automobile manufacturer. He also throws light on reports stating that in some EVs the battery shuts down leaving the customer stranded. Gaurav explains that in case of an accident, the safety sensor system shuts down the battery to protect itself as a safety feature.

Gaurav clarified tales of EVs conking out and leaving drivers high and dry, saying that the BE 6’s safety sensor system shuts down the battery to protect itself and keep things safe.
He also highlights the benefits of Level 2 ADAS from his personal experience. Sharing an incident, he recalls how a reckless two-wheeler darted past, missing his BE6 by just 3 centimetres, at that moment, the BE6’s emergency braking system sprang into action like a superhero, preventing a potential accident.
Mahindra BE 6’s lifetime warranty: Explained
BE 6 owner, Gaurav breaks down Mahindra’s lifetime warranty which is a 15-year, unlimited-kilometre coverage starting from the day you register your vehicle. He emphasizes there are no hidden fees and explains that after 8 years, Mahindra considers a 70% State of Charge (SOC) acceptable. Getting real about warranties, Gaurav points out that terms and conditions are just part of the deal and are necessary. He shares a story about another EV owner he met who relied heavily on fast DC chargers, confidently saying, “I’ve got a 15-year warranty”. Gaurav’s advice is simple, “It’s your car, use it smartly, and you won’t have to lean on that warranty. It’s there for genuine faults, not for turning your BE 6 into a demolition derby.”
