From Bollywood to Politics: Why Indian Icons are praising the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e?

From futuristic looks to powerful performance, Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs— BE 6 and XEV 9e— have given quite a few reasons to impress many noted individuals across the country.

Mahindra marked a new beginning to its electric vehicle (EV) revolution with the launch of BE and XEV 9e late last year. Bookings for both electric SUVs started early this year and deliveries of selected variants have already started. The craze for these cars was very evident as the homegrown carmaker raked in 30,179 bookings within the first 30 minutes.

The Mahindra BE 6 starts at Rs 18.90 lakh ex-showroom, while the larger XEV 9e starts at Rs 21.90 lakh, ex-showroom. The BE 6 is available in five variants, while the XEV 9e is available in four variants. As deliveries commence, the SUVs have garnered appreciation from well-known personalities across the country. Many of them have shared their views on their respective social media handles. 

Milind Deora

Member of Parliament, Milind Deora recently shared a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle after he gained possession of his BE 6.  The “Made in India” coupe electric SUV is seen in the background wrapped in the Desert Mist shade, which is most likely the top-of-the-line Pack 3 variant, priced at Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom). In his X post, the Shive Sena MP wrote saying, “It’s a proud moment to see Indian companies innovating & competing with global majors in the EV space.”

AR Rahman

Famed music director, AR Rahman, helped Mahindra in curating the sounds for BE 6 and XEV 9E. The musician took this opportunity to get his hands on both vehicles and test them. A video of Rahman having a conversation with R Veluswamy Joint Managing Director, Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd. about the music crafted for these EVs has been uploaded by the company on its official YouTube website.

John Abraham

Bollywood actor John Abraham was one of the first big celebrities to get their hands on both BE 6 and XEV 9e. A couple of months ago, the Pathaan actor was shown the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9E at his residence, from where he took both of them on test drives simultaneously. He stated that both of these SUVs are very bold and futuristic and have all the features and gizmos inside while revealing that BE 6 is his pick.

H.D. Kumaraswamy

Earlier in January this year, Union Minister of Heavy Industries, H.D. Kumaraswamy took a spin on both the electric SUVs. A video of the same was shared on all social media handles by the Ministry of Heavy Industries. The Union Ministry was particularly impressed with the XEV 9e which has been unanimously praised for its comfortable ride quality and top notch quality.

Prince of Udaipur

Besides politicians and celebrities, royalties have also been raving about the new Mahindra electric SUV duo. Prince of Udaipur, Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, got to test both the vehicles and was especially impressed by their looks. In his video, Mewar reveals that when his kids saw the cars for the first time, they actually thought they were alien vehicles. He also expressed his pride in an Indian automaker like Mahindra for successfully developing a car of this caliber, and that too within India.
