Force Motors has finally unveiled the Gurkha in its new 5-door form. At the same time, the Pune-based automaker has retained the 3-door version of Gurkha and made some critical updates to it. Force has officially started accepting bookings for the updated Gurkha range, both 3-door and 5-door version, at a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Prices for the 2024 Gurkha lineup are expected to be announced in the next few days. The updates include minor cosmetic changes, a few more features, and more power under the belt.
Force Gurkha: Exterior design
The design of Force Gurkha remains intact barring a few minor tweaks including a new honeycomb nose grille to replace the flat plastic panel. Rest of details such as the boxy silhouette with a flat roofline, chunky front and rear bumpers, flared wheel arches, 5-spoke 18-inch, dual-tone alloy wheels, and round LED headlamps with circular dotted LED DRLs are carried over from the outgoing model.

LED fog lamps with cornering function, snorkel, side steps, and roof rack come as standard fitment. Other visual highlights include vertically-stacked taillights, integrated ladder, tailgate-mounted spare wheel, and a tow hook. Moreover, the 5-door Gurkha is 125mm longer, and 26-mm taller than its smaller sibling although the width is identical. Both versions can be had in four exterior colour schemes – red, green, white, and black.
| Force Gurkha | Wheelbase | Length | Width | Height | Ground Clearance |
| 3-door | 2400 mm | 3965 mm | 1865 mm | 2270 mm | 233 mm |
| 5-door | 2825 mm | 4390 mm | 1865 mm | 2296 mm | 233 mm |
Force Gurkha: Features
Gurkha remains more or less the same bare-bones SUV but is only slightly better equipped with a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system sourced from Nippon. Other features include a 7.0-inch digital instrument console, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered ORVMs, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, an auto start-stop system, and an electronically controlled shift-on-fly four-wheel-drive selector.

Force Gurkha: Powertrain
Force has employed the same 2.6-litre turbo diesel engine sourced from Mercedes Benz, however, this unit has now been upgraded to deliver 138 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Power is sent to all four wheels via a low-range transfer case. Off-roading capabilities are enhanced by front and rear mechanical locking differentials.
