Suzuki showcased new Swift last year in Japan, and for the first time, Suzuki Swift has since been spied in India by Cartoq. The spied image suggests that spotted Suzuki Swift might be a mild hybrid version and it might be here for  testing.  The 2018 Swift is undoubtedly the most awaited car in India. It features a new exterior and an all-new interior. According to images, the Swift gets projector headlamps with LED DRL’s, hexagonal grille and fog lamps at the front. It gets LED taillamps and roof spoiler at the rear. Inside the cabin, the 2018 Swift get three spoke steering wheel, steering mounted control and touch screen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, the spied version of Swift comes with an automatic transmission. The new Swift is based on the Baleno’s lightweight HEARTECT platform that has allowed the company to shed its weight by about 100kg when compared to the current outgoing model.

The India bound, 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift will be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.3-litre DDiS engine. The new Swift engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while, it is expected that it might get automatic transmission too. The diesel unit might also come with Suzuki’s mild-hybrid technology, SHVS. Claimed fuel efficiency for the Suzuki Swift Hybrid models is 32 kmpl. However, Maruti Suzuki has still not announced if it will be getting the SHVS Swift to India.

In addition, the company might introduce the Swift with a 1.0-litre Booster jet engine as in the Baleno. With Swift, the company has already made its mark in the segment which includes vehicles such as Hyundai Grand i10 and Ford Figo.
