Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in India to completely waive the registration fees for strong or full hybrid cars. This initiative by the state government aims to encourage the adoption of eco-friendly vehicles, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. The Uttar Pradesh government anticipates a surge in hybrid vehicle sales, and likely other states will soon follow this example. This policy will also contribute to making hybrid vehicles more affordable. Automakers such as Toyota, Maruti Suzuki, and Honda, which offer hybrid vehicles, will welcome this news. Thanks to this decision, car buyers in Uttar Pradesh could save upwards of Rs 3 lakh depending on the model of the vehicle.
Major price cut on hybrid vehicles: Up to Rs 3 lakh
The waiver of registration fees by the UP Government has given Maruti Suzuki a massive boost as its shares surged over 5 per cent today. With the state government eliminating registration fees, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder strong hybrid gets Rs 2.04 lakh off and is now available from Rs 16.66 lakh to Rs 20.19 lakh, ex-showroom Noida.

The popular Toyota Innova Hycross gets a rebate of up to Rs 3.11 lakh and as a result, the range costs from Rs 25.97 lakh to Rs 30.98 lakh, ex-showroom Noida. According to reports, Toyota is offering a massive price cut of up to Rs 4.4 lakh on the Camry.
