BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro Edition launched at Rs 62.60 lakh— What’s special?

BMW says only limited units of the 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro Edition will be available for the Indian market, although the German marque is yet to reveal an exact number.

BMW has launched a new variant of the 3 Series in India. Called the Grand Limousine M Sport Por Edition, the luxury saloon gets subtle exterior styling updates and additional tech over the standard 3 Series. 

The model will be locally assembled at BMW’s Chennai-based plant. It is available for bookings across all BMW dealerships in India as well as the company’s official website. Priced at Rs 62.60 lakh (ex-showroom), it costs Rs 2 lakh more than the regular 3 Series. Let us look at what additional the new variant offers as compared to the regular 3 Series.

BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro: What’s new?

Starting with its exterior, the Gran Limousine M Sport Pro edition gets a sportier treatment courtesy of new blacked-out elements such the kidney grille, and the gloss-black rear diffuser. Further, the adaptive LED headlamps get a smoky treatment to enhance the car’s sporty appeal. BMW is offering this special edition 3 Series in four exterior colour schemes namely – Mineral White, Skyscraper grey, Carbon Black and Portimao Blue.

Inside the cabin, the 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro Edition gets a dual-tone treatment with black dashboard to go with tan brown seats. Add exclusivity to this special edition model are M Headliner Anthracite upholstery for the seats and interior door trims. The electrically adjustable front seats are wrapped with genuine leather Vernasca. The central air vents positioned below the control display are now slimmer and more modern in design.

Other aesthetic features added to the 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro edition include ambient lighting  and an illuminated contour strip on the back of the front seats. The M Sport Pro edition gets additional tech in the form of BMW’s curved display with a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system embedded with latest OS 8. 

Other novel features on offer include a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, BMW Connected Drive, cornering headlamps, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging pad, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround audio system. Safety features on offer in the 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro include six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, electric parking brake with auto hold, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), etc.

BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro: Powertrain

Based on the 330Li M Sport, the 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro Edition is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which pumps out 255 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are carried out by an eight-speed Steptronic sport automatic gearbox. There are three drive modes to choose from: Eco Pro, Comfort, and Sport. The rear-wheel driven 3 Series Gran Limousine M Sport Pro gets a 50:50 weight distribution.
