Audi has released its annual sales report for 2023. The German marque has registered a cumulative volume of 7,931 units in India during the period between January and December. This led to a massive 89% growth over the previous year. It is the highest sales volume recorded by Audi in India since 2015.
This positive growth was recorded on the back of the company’s three new launches last year— Audi Q3 Sportback, Q8 e-tron, and Q8 Sportback e-tron. The carmaker continued to receive good demand for existing models like for the best-selling A4, A6, and Q5.
Audi 2023 sales
Major bulk of the sales volume was registered in the fourth quarter of 2023 which accounted for 2,401 retail units. This led to a 94% jump in comparison to the corresponding period the previous year.

Shedding more light through a media release, Audi revealed that its SUV range registered 174% growth over the previous calendar year. Performance & Lifestyle cars including the e-tron range grew by 40%. The company revealed that every fourth buyer in India is a repeat Audi customer.
Speaking on the same, Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India said, “2023 marks another successful year for us and our diverse and desirable product portfolio continues to garner robust demand. We remain steadfast to an upward trajectory, instituting industry-first initiatives, and delivering unparalleled luxury experiences.”
Dhillon further added that Audi is expanding its retail footprint across India, culminating in the year-end with a total of 64 touch points (includes showrooms and workshops) and 25 Audi Approved: plus showrooms nationwide.
Audi also stated that Audi Approved: plus, the pre-owned car business of the German brand, witnessed a growth of 62% in 2023. Currently operating with 25 facilities across all major hubs in the country, the brand will continue to expand and add more pre-owned car facilities this year.
Audi’s electrification charge
In line with Audi’s focus on sustainability, Audi India recently opened India’s first ultra-fast charging station in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. Conceptualised and developed in collaboration with ChargeZone, this ultra-fast charging station boasts an impressive, total capacity of 450kW, to deliver 360kW of power to an electric vehicle and is enabled by a 500 amps liquid-cooled gun to ensure high performance and efficiency.

Powered by green energy, the ultra-fast charging station also has a solar roof which further supports the peripheral electrical requirements like lighting. The Audi Q8 55 e-tron with a 114 kWh battery (the largest battery on a passenger vehicle in India) can charge from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes.
