Lamborghini is in the firing line once again. This time too it is the Revuelto – the brand’s first hybrid supercar – which caught fire in Mumbai. Apparently, a unit of the Revuelto was caught in flames on the Coastal Road in Mumbai on Wednesday night. A short clip recalling the incident has been circulated on the internet.

The video has been shared by noted businessman Gautam Singhania on his personal social media handles. The clip shows an orange-clad Lamborghini Revuelto, registered in Gujarat, catching flames as a person tries to douse the fire with a hosepipe. This isn’t the first time that the Chairman of the Raymond Group has been critical about the Italian supercar brand.

Lamborghini facing the heat

In October earlier this year, Singhania shared his unfortunate experience of a Lamborghini Revuelto. Within fifteen days of taking possession of the hybrid sports car, Singhania complained about an incident that took place on the Trans Harbour Link Road. Singhania complained that due to an electrical failure during the drive left him stranded.

Further, Singhania pointed out that no one from Lamborghini India or Asia Division had reached out to him since the incident took place. Coming back to the latest  incident, a PTI report states that the fire broke out inside a moving Lamborghini Revuelto. The incident occurred around 10:20 pm on Wednesday night. The exact number of people in the car and the cause of the fire are not yet known.

However, no injuries have been reported yet. A fire brigade official said one fire engine was promptly dispatched to the spot. The blaze was doused in approximately 45 minutes. The reason behind this fire incident also hasn’t come to light yet. Lamborghini is yet to share its official statement on this incident.

Lamborghini Revuelto is powered by a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 petrol engine that is mated to triple electric motor setup producing a combined output of over 1000 horses. The power is delivered to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). The Revuelto can sprint from nought to 100 kmph in 2.5 seconds.
