Saying that the sunroof is the most sought-after feature in four-wheelers would not be an exaggeration. Its popularity has grown to the point where every car manufacturer now includes it. Let’s explore the SUV category to discover which models come with a sunroof for less than Rs 10 lakh.
Hyundai Exter: Rs 8.23 lakh
Hyundai entered the subcompact SUV segment in 2023 with the Exter. Initially, the micro SUV was one of the most sought-after vehicles in the Indian market, but the sales numbers started to dwindle. Last month in July, the Exter only managed 6037 units and was the 22nd most sold car in the market. What goes in its favour is that it is one of the most value-for-money vehicles.

The Exter offers the sunroof from the SX variant, which is priced at Rs 8.23 lakh, ex-showroom. Apart from this trim, the Exter offers this feature on four other variants — SX Knight, SX(O), SX(O) Connect and SX(O) Connect Knight— which start at Rs 8.38 lakh, Rs 8.87 lakh, Rs 9.05 lakh, Rs 9.56 lakh and Rs 9.71 lakh respectively. The Exter is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with an output of 82 bhp and 113.8 Nm. It is available with two transmission options — a 5-speed manual and an AMT.Â
Kia Sonet: Rs 8.29 lakh

Both variants feature a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 82 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Tata Punch: Rs 8.35 lakh
The Punch offers a range of sunroof variants, beginning with the Accomplished Sunroof model at an ex-showroom price of Rs 8.35 lakh. Other variants featuring this option include the Accomplished Dazzle Sunroof, Creative DT SR, and Creative Flagship DT, priced at Rs 8.75 lakh, Rs 9.30 lakh, and Rs 9.60 lakh, respectively. The MX3 and MX3 Pro also include a single-panel sunroof, priced at ₹9.49 lakh and ₹9.99 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively. All three petrol variants are priced below ₹10 lakh and are equipped with an 80 bhp 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 200 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
