Kia is working on a number of new models for the Indian market including all-electric vehicles. At the same time, the Korean brand keeps updating its existing lineup with the mid-life facelifts. Last year, the Seltos received a major upgrade, while earlier this year it was the Sonet which received a comprehensive mid-cycle facelift.
The next in-line is the updated Carens, which has now been spotted testing. A test mule of the facelifted Carens has been caught testing on camera in South Korea. The prototype shown in the latest images is partially covered in black wraps which make it hard to spot any noticeable changes.
2025 Kia Carens facelift: Expected exterior, interiors updates
The exterior styling of Carens is likely to receive subtle updates over the existing model. From the looks of it, the headlight setup as well as the DRLs will be completely redesigned with new vertical rectangular clusters replacing the sleeker units in the current model. The nose and grille area remains concealed as of now.
At the rear, the LED strip along the connected taillamp setup has been reshaped which resembles the facelifted Seltos. The side profile indicates a few new lines and creases on side body panels, while glass area and doors are kept intact. Other expected visual changes are new dual-tone alloy wheels, and revised front and rear bumpers.
Changes inside the cabin are still in the dark, but we expect the updated Carens to adopt a revised dashboard layout featuring the twin-screen setup as seen in the Seltos facelift. Other updates could include new seat upholstery, an updated infotainment system, and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) to name a few.
2025 Kia Carens facelift: Expected powertrain specs
The facelifted Carens will most likely receive the same set of engine options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The naturally aspirated petrol motor churns out 114 bhp and 144 Nm of peak torque. The diesel mill kicks out 115 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The turbocharged petrol engine pumps out 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque.
Kia will offer multiple transmission options including 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed DCT automatic.
