Maruti Suzuki is preparing to debut the long-awaited 2024 Swift in May. The popular hatchback was showcased globally last year at the Tokyo Mobility Show, and its sedan variant, the Dzire, is set to appear in India soon. Even though the new Swift will launch in India next month, the hatchback remains one of the top five best-selling vehicles in the country. Here are five new features for the 2024 Swift.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Longer and Taller than outing model
The new fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is built on the existing Heartech platform. The outgoing and new Swift’s wheelbases are both 2,450 mm long. The 2024 Swift is expected to be more spacious, as it is 15 mm longer, resulting in a larger cabin. The new Swift stands 30 mm taller than its predecessor.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Design Updates
Since its debut in 2005, the Swift has maintained a dynamic road presence. Maruti Suzuki maintains the same design ethos but with a more modern composition. In terms of appearance, the 2024 keeps the trapezoidal front grill and a pronounced engine hood shutline. It also has strong front and back bumpers, as well as sharp headlights and LED daytime running lights. Even though the international version has 16-inch alloy wheels, the Swift in India will come with a 15-inch set. Other slight design changes include character lines across the doors and boot lid. Another significant feature is that the rear door handles are now in the standard location rather than buried within the C-pillar.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Cabin
The all-dark interiors have been replaced by a dual-tone grey-black theme. The cabin’s design now closely resembles the Baleno and Fronx. The infotainment system is no longer integrated into the dashboard; instead, it is a floating screen. The top model could receive a 9-inch touchscreen with a six-speaker Arkamys sound system, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If it follows in the footsteps of the Baleno, the mid-level Swift could feature a 7-inch infotainment system. The shape and design of the flat-bottom steering wheel remain unchanged.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Features
The new Swift will come packed with safety features like a 360-degree camera, six airbags, a rearview camera with rear parking sensors, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and an electronic stability program. The top variants of the 2024 Swift will get connectivity features geo-fence, valet alerts, stolen vehicle notifications and tracking and emergency alerts. The jury is still out on whether the Swift will get ADAS, but as of now, it seems unlikely.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Mild-Hybrid Engine
The Swift will be powered by a brand new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z Series naturally aspirated powertrain replacing the tried-and-tested 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K Series Dual Jet. The new engine will get the mild-hybrid tech making it more fuel efficient. The power output is expected to be more or less than the same as the current 89bhp 1.2-litre motor. Unlike the international Swift which gets a CVT gearbox, the India-bound version is expected to retain AMT along with a 5-speed manual transmission.
