Kia recently confirmed that the 2024 Sonet facelift will be unveiled on December 14th. The South Korean manufacturer has officially been releasing teasers of the compact SUV on various social media platforms. Before the Sonet officially breaks cover, details about its variants, colours and powertrains have been leaked.
2024 Kia Sonet: Variants
The facelift Sonet will come in seven different trims — HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+ and X-Line. Variants like HTX, HTX+, GTX+ and X-Line come standard with all four disc brakes. Keeping safety in mind, Kia has equipped the entire Sonet portfolio with six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, VSM, rear parking sensors, emergency brakes, tyre pressure monitor system, etc.

2024 Kia Sonet: Engines and Transmissions
The Sonet will continue to be offered in three engine options — 1-litre 118bhp turbo petrol with 172Nm, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol with 82bhp and 115Nm and 114bhp 1.5-litre diesel with 250Nm. The turbo will be available with two transmissions, a 6-speed clutchless manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch and the NA petrol will only come with a 5-speed manual.
On the other hand, the diesel will be available in three gearboxes — 6-speed manual, 6-speed manual clutchless and 6-speed torque converter automatic. Kia has decided to bring back the manual variant in diesel.Â

2024 Kia Sonet: Colours
According to the leaked document, Kia will introduce 11 colour options including the new Pewter Olive and Xclusive Matte Graphite. The latter is only available in the X-Line. There are eight monotone options — Pewter Olive, Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Intense Red, Imperial Blue and Clear White. Two dual-tone colours are Intense Red/ Aurora Black Pearl and Glacier White Pearl/ Aurora Black Pearl.
2024 Kia Sonet: Features
The 2024 Sonet facelift will come equipped with Level 1 ADAS like the Hyundai Venue. It has ten autonomous features like Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, etc.
From the HTK+ variant onwards, we will get LED-connected rear lamps. Other features the top variants offer are a 360-degree surround camera with blind spot monitor, four-way electric power driver seat, Bose audio system with seven speakers, traction and drive modes, cruise control, air purifier, paddle shifters and front ventilated seats. Sonet will sport a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and an all-digital 10.25-inch driver’s console.
