Hyundai recently launched the facelifted model to the second-gen Creta which received some substantial updates over the outgoing iteration. A few months back, Kia Seltos– Creta’s direct rival and family member– also received a comprehensive mid-cycle facelift. Both Creta and Seltos have unique top hats and look stylish in their latest avatars, especially the new Creta whose design is much more palatable this time. Based on the same platform, both SUVs have very similar dimensions. The Seltos is longer and wider than the Creta, while the latter is taller than the former, by small margins though. Both offer an exact same wheelbase of 2610mm.

Also, the top-spec X-Line variant of Kia Seltos gets a larger 18-inch wheel whereas the top-spec SX(O) trim of the new Hyundai Creta gets smaller 17-inch alloy wheels.

When it comes to features, both the latest iterations of Creta and Seltos are loaded to the gills. Common creature comforts include automatic LED headlights, connected LED DRLs with LED headlights, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, 10.25-inch fully digital display, wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, 8-speaker Bose audio system, and much more.
Seltos gets a Head-up display in the top-spec X-Line trim over the new Creta. In terms of safety, both Creta and Seltos get 6 airbags, electronic stability program, front and rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX seat mounts as standard fitments. Higher variants of both SUVs get tyre pressure monitoring system, blind spot view monitor, and Level 2 ADAS suites comprising advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane change warning, and more.

2024 Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos offer the exact same engine options with identical power and torque outputs for each. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. However, gearbox options are slightly different.

While the diesel engine in Seltos offers a 6-speed iMT and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes, the Creta comes with the 6-speed torque converter and a traditional manual transmission. The turbo petrol engine in Creta comes paired exclusively to a 7-speed DCT auto gearbox while the Seltos gets an additional option of the 6-speed iMT. Transmission options for the 1.5-litre NA petrol remain the same in both models.
Another small difference is the fuel efficiency figures claimed by both manufacturers.

While starting prices of Kia Seltos are slightly lower than Creta, it has a higher price for the top-spec trim. That said, these are introductory prices for Creta which will be revised in a couple of months time
