Audi India has launched next generation Q5 in India at a price of Rs 53.25 lakh, Ex-showroom. The 2018 Audi Q5 is based on MLB Evo platform and share its underpinnings from its elder sibling Q7. The new platform has made SUV lighter in weight by 100kg than its previous generation. The next generation Audi Q5 gets changes on the exterior and interior. At the front, the SUV gets Audi’s large single-frame grille with LED DRL’s, while at the rear it gets new LED tail lamps and twin exhausts. The 2018 Audi Q5 is taller, wider and longer than its previous generation Q5. It measures 4663 mm in length, 1893 mm in width,1659mm height and has a wheelbase of 2819 mm. At launch, the company introduced 2.0 litre TDI diesel version that produces 190hp of power and 400Nm of torque. The 2.0 litre TDI engine is mated to 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox and company claims that next generation Q5 can accelerate 0-100 in 7.9 seconds and can attain a top speed of 218 kph.The 2018 Audi Q5 gets five driving modes Comfort, Dynamic, Individual, Auto, Off-road and Predictive Efficiency Assist.

The next generation Q5 gets a host of updates inside such as heads-up display and a 12.3-inch screen with Audi’s Virtual cockpit and 8.3 inch screen with MMI navigation with MMI touch. In terms of safety, next-generation Audi Q5 gets eight- airbags, ABS, ESP, Hill Descent Assist and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). Also, it comes equipped with features, such as parking assist sensors with reversing camera, cruise control, auto hold function and electromechanical parking brake. The 2018 Audi Q5 will compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Volvo XC60 and the upcoming 2018 BMW X3.
